Apple Releases iOS 9.0.1 Fixing Major Bugs

Posted by

There are no software updates in 9.0.1 it just fixes a few major bugs. This version is compatible with Go Reception 2.7. Remember to report any bugs or issues experienced if you update your iPad’s to this version.

  • Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
  • Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
  • Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
  • Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data.

Coinciding with the launch of iOS 9.0.1, Apple has updated its own support page for the “Slide to Upgrade” issue. The support page now suggests users that are dealing with the “Slide to Upgrade” issue to connect their device to iTunes after performing a hard reset and choosing the “Update” option. Then follow the onscreen steps to set up the device.

Users who have resolved the issue by restoring the device are still encouraged to follow steps to restore from a previous backup by erasing the content and settings and then selecting the option to restore from a backup from either iCloud or iTunes.

You can download and install iOS 9.0.1 by opening Settings > General > Software Update on your iOS device. The download size varies based on your device, but you will notice in the screenshot that it seems to be a little bit more than 34 megabytes. Hopefully, this software update fixes the “Slide to Upgrade” bug for everyone experiencing the issue.

  1. I find the constant updates to be very annoying. Why can’t Apple just get these things right the first time? I suppose I’d rather have things fixed with the updates than nothing, but still, I feel like I’m constantly being asked to update my iOS!
